Google is planning to bring ChromeOS, an alternative to Windows, to more premium computers and tablets. The company will launch a program called Chromebook X to differentiate the powerful hardware of ChromeOS devices from the rest of the market. With this program, Google will be able to add more features to ChromeOS.
What is Google’s Chromebook X program?
It is expected that Chromebook X devices will have stronger hardware. Google will provide various guidelines for RAM, camera quality, screen resolutions, and processors. This will ensure that the laptops produced for the Chromebook X program will work above a certain hardware quality.
Currently, Chromebook models support AMD Zen 2 and Zen 3 or 12th Generation Intel Core processors. Google, on the processor side, may include budget-friendly options and prioritize quality over high price tags for Chromebook X.
Google is also expected to introduce several software enhancements for Chromebook X computers. These may include live captions during video calls, audio isolation, and portrait blurring effects. Additionally, special wallpapers that change based on sunrise and sunset will enhance the user experience.
While an exact release date has not been announced, the Chromebook X program is expected to be shared before the end of the year. The program will encompass existing Chromebooks that meet the necessary criteria, providing a wide range of options.
Considering the demand for ChromeOS products, it’s not surprising that Google wants to produce more powerful ChromeOS computers.
